SUMMARY:As a System Administrator I you'll assist with the installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related network infrastructure. You are able to troubleshoot networks, Windows based servers and desktops, and applications. You are eager to learn more about all systems, and happy to help others when needed.RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:To support and maintain the server & network systems and software of Forum Communication Company's Broadcast Division IT infrastructure. Work closely with broadcast personnel from WDAY and WDAZ to assure system & network stability.Ability to investigate and solve basic systems problems.Take ownership of & resolve issues in the ticketing system from internal customers.Monitor system logs and identify potential problems with computer systems.Assist with other non-system administration tasks as neededDocument current systems & networks and future changes.Create instructions for users and other administrators.Be willing to take lead on projects.Assist with server installation and configuration.Maintain installation and configuration procedures.Contribute to system standards.Have a basic grasp of system security and keep up to date with developments in new technology.Participate in after hours on-call rotation.QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:Associate Degree, BS Degree or comparable experience in a technical field such as computer science or engineering.Have solid understanding of server systems such as Windows Server software & networking technologies and troubleshooting.Have an understanding of Active Directory and user administration.
